Matters
Committed to addressing key issues that matter to Washington families.
After we moved to Washington, we were genuinely happy. We were comfortable, exploring the state, and believed it was a great place to start a business, buy a home, and raise a family. The state seemed full of opportunity and thriving. And that was true, but not for long.
As you go through your daily routine, you start noticing things you didn’t pay attention to when you first moved. Piles of trash along the roads. Huge potholes and rough roads. Road markings that are worn out and almost invisible at night and in the rain, which is unsafe. A large number of drug addicts and homeless people in the world known capital of the state. Car break ins. I have personally been robbed two times. Trees hanging over power lines. And that is only a small part of the problems.
Washington is a beautiful, green state. It should be the emerald of the West Coast, a model of quality living and a tourist destination. But unfortunately, the state leadership is pushing it away from that and making it less attractive for living and investment.
People often ask what three things matter most. That is a difficult question, because running a state is like an orchestra made up of many instruments that all need to be in tune and work when needed.
People voted for $30 car tabs, but were ignored. Drivers in the Sound Transit District pay an additional RTA tax. Many are paying for transit they never use, while dealing with some of the worst roads in the country, ranked 48 out of 50. We are in the top 5 in the country for drug overdose deaths. First in chronic homelessness.
Third in property crime. Fourth in grocery prices. Third in fuel prices. We dropped from the top 10 states for business to 14th place. The state is facing a budget shortfall. We are spending more than we earn. We have far more than three problems, and each of them is important. That should not be happening.
The people running the state refuse to take responsibility and keep saying everything is fine. It is not fine. We are here. Our eyes are open. We see everything. It does not matter what your views are. Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, or Communist. We all live in the same state and want to make it better. Successful. Safe. A shining emerald not only of the West Coast, but of the entire country.
I do not believe the same politicians who are ruining our state when they say that new taxes will make things better. It will not. They have already lost our trust.
This growing list of problems pushed me to run. Today I choose change for myself, right now.
Support my campaign in this election if you also believe that you and your community deserve better.
